In Remembrance of a Great Man Thomas A. Metcalf, Sr. June 3, 1941 - March 16, 2012 If the World had more Tom Metcalf, Srs.: More people would smile. And mean it. More people would fix it rather than replace it. And know how to do it. More little kids would feel loved. And they would appreciate their families. Jeans and flannel shirts would be in most closets. And grease would be a fashion choice. Camping would be a way of life. And people would understand a little dirt wouldn't hurt. There would be more beautiful, old cars. And people would drive slowly and take in the views. More women would be wearing fine, hand-crafted jewelry. And more men would wear priceless handmade belt buckles. There would be an abundance of impeccably trained pipefitters. And more members of the Local 38 would feel like they were a part of something purposeful. Family loyalty and a sense of responsibility would be a part of every family. And more parents, wives, children and siblings would feel truly loved and appreciated. Never a day goes by that we don't hold you close, think about you, and wonder, "What would Tom, Dad, Papa do?"
